STRS Honors Graduating Theology Majors

Congratulations to the following Theology & Religious Studies Majors and Minors who have been inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society based on their academic achievement in their study of Religion and Theology at CUA.

Jennifer Arrigotti, Joanna Berry, Erika Buehler, Andrew Cox, Ryan Fredrickson, Rachael Grabowski, Michael Heinlein, Rebecca Jackson, Anthony Nardino, Annalee Moyer, Erin O’Donnell, Erin O’ Keefe, Mallory Pelletier, Daniel Phillips, Bianca Tropeano, Emily Wallace, Anna Zaros.

This year’s recipient of the Reverend Gerard Sloyan Award for outstanding achievement is Anna Zaros.  Anna not only excelled academically but co-founded the campus Social Justice Committee, served as the student representative on the committee responsible for issues concerning the undergraduate TRS curriculum and B.A. program in Theology and Religious Study.   Anna was also the 2008 recipient of the Albert Clark award for the best undergraduate essay submitted to the Theta Alpha Kappa Journal.  Anna’s essay was on the significance and place of Jerusalem in the Israel-Palestinian conflict and the role that interrelations dialogue has and still can play a role in the movement towards peace.  For Anna it was a special honor to be presented the Sloyan Award by the Reverend Gerard Sloyan himself.  As is his custom, Fr. Sloyan shared a little known fact with those assembled at the award presentation – the founder of the Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society some thirty years ago, Brother Albert Clark, was himself an alumnus of CUA.
