Prof. Joseph Capizzi Spokesperson at Vatican Press Conference

Prof. Joseph Capizzi (Associate Professor of Moral Theology) spoke this morning at a press conference in Rome to introduce  the upcoming International Conference on Ethical Perspectives on the Incurably Ill and the Dying, to be held at the Vatican on Feb. 25-26th.  His remarks on suffering were cited on today's Vatican website. He was introduced by  Bishop Elio Sgreccia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life. Other presentations were made by Msgr.  Maurizio Calipari (Professor of Bioethics at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family)  and Prof. Zbigniew Zylicz, the Director of the Dove House Hospice in Hull, East Yorkshire, England.

On Monday, Feruary 25th, he will have an audience with the Pope and then, in the afternoon, give a talk to the General Assembly of the Pontifical Academy for Life on secularization and the meaning of death.
