STRS Welcomes New Faculty for Fall 2008
This fall the School of Theology and Religious Studies will be adding five new assistant professors to our faculty in the areas of Biblical Studies, Pastoral Studies, and Systematic Theology. STRS has also hired two new associate professors in the areas of Biblical Studies and Church History. We look forward to working with all of them in the coming semester.

CUA Professor at Quebec Conference on Eucharist
Fr Paul McPartlan, Carl J.Peter Professor of Systematic Theology and Ecumenism, is attending an International Theological Symposium on the Eucharist at the Universite Laval, Quebec, 11-13 June, ahead of the International Eucharistic Congress being held in Quebec, 15-22 June. Fr McPartlan is speaking on the relationship between the Eucharist and the Church in the teaching of the fathers of the Church.

Dean Irwin Addresses Graduates
On Saturday May 18, 2008 following the main commencement ceremony, Msgr. Kevin Irwin spoke at the STRS graduation ceremony in Caldwell Hall.

STRS Congratulates Fr. James Wiseman
James Wiseman was awarded a Coolidge Fellowship by Cross Currents magazine. He and approximately eight other scholars will reside at Union Theological Seminary in New York City during the entire month of July while working on current projects and participating in regular colloquia to discuss their works in progress.

STRS Faculty at CTSA Convention
Fr. James Wiseman will convene and moderate the session on Christian spirituality at the annual meeting of the Catholic Theological Society of America, held in Miami from June 5-8.

STRS Professor to Lecture at Interfath Dialogue
James Wiseman will give a presentation on "The World as Created, Fallen, and Redeemed" at Gethsemani Encounter III, a major dialogue between Buddhist and Christian monastics held at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Nelson County, Kentucky, from May 27-31.

STRS Honors Graduating Seniors
STRS Congratulates the Theology & Religious Studies Majors and Minors who have been inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society, as well as Anna Zaros--the 2008 recipient of the Reverend Gerard Sloyan Award for Outstanding Achievement.

New Online Summer Course: TRS 540 Introduction to Liturgy
This pre-graduate level course is a requirement for several programs and can help to complete a student's theology credits before beginning graduate level theology. The course presents a survey of the history of Christian Liturgy, various basic issues regarding liturgy, as well as the sacraments of the Catholic Church.
